Overview
Throughout the process, the focus is on turning your ideas into clear, buildable designs. Every project comes with its own set of constraints and opportunities—site conditions, budget, building type, and how the space will actually be used. With your input on how you live or work, my role is to organize those variables into a well-planned layout, refine the details, and clearly communicate the design so you and your builder understand exactly what’s being built.
My goal is to make the design experience clear, collaborative, and enjoyable. Every project moves through three phases—Concept Design, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration. Each phase builds on the last, ensuring that every detail of yourhome and business is thoughtfully considered and aligned with how you live and work.
The Process
Concept Design
We begin with an in-person or virtual meeting to understand your goals, priorities, and vision for the project. From there, a formal proposal is prepared, and once approved, we move into concept design.
The design develops through a combination of 2D floor plans and 3D visualizations, allowing us to study layout, scale, and overall direction. Through a series of collaborative review meetings, the design is refined and adjusted based on your feedback.
By the end of this phase, we arrive at a clear and cohesive concept that serves as the foundation for the Construction Documents phase.
Construction Documents
With the concept design established, we develop a comprehensive set of construction documents for permitting, bidding, and construction.
These drawings translate the design into precise, buildable information, including dimensioned plans, site and roof plans, electrical and lighting layouts, and detailed sections and assemblies. The set is coordinated to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with the approved design.
By the end of this phase, the project is fully defined and ready to move into pricing and construction.
Construction Administration
During construction, I remain involved to help guide the project and ensure the design is carried through as intended.
I provide ongoing coordination with the builder and owner, responding to questions, clarifying drawings, and addressing conditions that arise in the field. Site visits can be scheduled at key stages to review progress and verify that important details are being executed correctly.
This phase helps maintain continuity between the design and the built result.
